From the moment I saw

this gown on Pearl’s Place’s

Instagram, I knew I wanted to

photograph it at sunset on the

rooftop of the Higgins Hotel. I’m

so happy the sky cooperated

with my vision!

I met the ladies of Dark Garden Corse

try at the 2019 Festigals Conference

and was so intrigued that I asked if

they’d be interested in collaborating

on an editorial. Check out their story

BEFORE YOU SAY “I DO,” you need ask “How Much?” Traditionally, the bride’s family carries the majority of the financial responsibility.

But with the cost of weddings growing as well as the average age of couples increasing, many couples are picking up some of the wedding

expenses. Grooms’ families are also chipping in more than just the traditional rehearsal dinner and other small expenses. But no matter

how the bill is divided, couples need to decide on a budget and stick with it. Use the worksheet below to decide how your budget will

be divided.

THE INSPIRATION: “The clean lines and geometric

shapes of the Art Deco inspired Higgins Hotel were

a perfect match for the backdrop that I envisioned

for this photo shoot. Floral elements, including a

motif of orchids, softened the very hard lines that are

indicative of the Art Deco style. I am always aware of

fabric texture and how it plays into the overall feel of

an event so we included a lot of velvet in the shoot

as well as light and airy fabrics such as chiffon and

organza. Subtle cues such as this can really set the

tone for an event and subconsciously elevate the

overall experience for your guests.”
